Vendredi 30/05

Today we learned about article contractions (de + le, de + les, à + le, à + les), practiced aller and giving directions, then started making a picture of our own, invented “French neighborhoods” (le quartier de __ton nom_ )

A Faire:  pg 203 #6


Devoirs :  finish « quartier » project, pg 202 #3 (questions and answers), take notes pg 205, pg 205 #8 (say each person is going to the other erson’s house using chez).  Start reviewing for the final exam (study all feuille de la semaine for 2nd semester, notes, book—all handouts are on the blog!)

Mercredi 28/05

Today we practiced singing our song for the “sing-off” on Friday and practiced the dialogue from the homework.  We took a verb quiz and learned the verb “aller”.  Then we read out loud the reading from the homework and discussed it in small groups.

Devoirs :  pg 196 #3 (use list of places and map on pg 197, don’t have to write merci line), pg 201 #2 (say that on Sunday people are not going to class and say where they actually are going—correct conjugations of “aller”)

Vendredi 23/05

Today we listened to our song “Je Veux” and practiced singing it out loud for our “sing-off” next week.  We learned how to say that places/rooms are next to/far from/near to/to the right of/etc other places and rooms.  Then we played “Loto”.

A Faire:  Feuille de la semaine 34 (vendredi)--Recycle from the question if possible !

Devoirs :  Study ER, IR, avoir, être, faire (verb quiz coming soon!), pg 196 #2 (use map pg 197, write whole dialogue except last line and Pardon Monsieur/Madame), read pg 198 (take notes over underlined vocab and any words you look up) and 199 (note culturelle-take notes), do comprehension questions pg 199 (complete sentences, recycle/use reading!!)

Mercredi 21/05

Today we practiced saying what places are close/far from our house, learned some new house vocabulary, went over homework and then prepared a “Loto” board for vendredi.

A Faire:  feuille de la semaine 34 (mercredi), Qu’est-ce qu’il y a… ? (PowerPoint slide—say what there is on each floor of the house, make sure to specify upstairs/downstairs)


Devoirs :  label all the parts of the house on the diagram using new vocabulary.  Make a floor plan of your dream house, must include: inside and outside features, at least 2 levels, 12 rooms/features (bedroom, kitchen, stairs, backyard, elevator, pool, etc..)  Then write sentences saying that there is on each floor of your house (Qu’est-ce qu’il y a dans ta maison?)  Do on a paper to turn in!!

Lundi 19/05

Today we reviewed talking about playing instruments and studying/learning courses using the verb faire, and the vocabulary for saying something is close or far away.  We also went over the vocab pg 194.

A Faire:  feuille 33-34 (lundi) complete sentences !

Devoirs :  Study ER, IR, avoir, etre, faire (verb quiz coming soon!), pg 195 #7 (attention : #3 is plural !!) & #8 (use the correct conjugation of être to say where the people are in the house based on what they are doing)

Vendredi 16/05

Today we learned how to talk about doing/playing sports and music and studying subjects or courses using the verb “faire”; practiced giving directions, and reviewed how to say what “there is” and “there isn’t” in our neighborhoods.

Mercredi 14/05

Today we reviewed être, avoir and faire as well as faire expressions, practiced asking questions about what kinds of places are in our neighborhoods, and learned some new vocabulary for asking for/giving directions.  We finished our Paris Top 10 video as well.

Lundi 12/05

Today we practiced talking about places on our street/in our neighborhood and learned to ask questions about them using “Qu’est-ce qu’il y a…?” (to find out what there is in an area) and “Est-ce qu’il y …?” (to find out if something specific is in that area).  Then we watched more of Paris Top 10.

Vendredi 09/05

Today we practiced giving our address and describing our city/neighborhood, learned new vocab (on sheet of the week) and watched more of Paris Top 10.

Devoirs :  pg 192 #3 (say what it is called if there is one in your neighborhood), read pg 188-189 and take notes!

Today we reviewed IR verbs, learned the verb “faire” and some expressions that go along with it, and started learning vocabulary for places in the city/our neighborhood.

Today we did some oral practice, corrected quizzes, and then had our fête de crêpe.
