Mercredi 30/04

Today we reviewed question words and went over the review worksheet, took a quiz and learned how to make crêpes through a PowerPoint.

Devoirs :  leçon  27 handout #1, crêpe crossword (Attention : articles may be le/la or un/une), 2 questions for Nils (in English or French) about France, French culture, whatever you’re curious about.  BRING CREPE PARTY SUPPLIES!!

Lundi 28/04

Today we did some review of time and then a review worksheet.  We also planned our fête de crêpe! 

A Faire:  review worksheet (Remember that we say things differently in French and English so don’t try to translate word for word!  Find the vocab/expression that makes the most sense!)

Handouts/Class Materials:  Review worksheet

Devoirs Study ER, IR, être and avoir, plus all vocab from Feuille de la semaine 25, 26, 27, 28 and from the book that we’ve been using! (Quiz Wednesday!), finish review worksheet, read pg 118-119 and do “comprehension” questions (say whether the statements are true or  false). Fête de crêpe vendredi!!!!

Vendredi 25/04

Today we practiced being serveur/serveuse and restaurant patrons with Mme. Reid’s menu.  We also heard a presentation about Annecy and Haute Savoie (France) from Nils, a student visiting from France.  Then we played Loto!

A Faire:  Take orders from group members using in-class menu.  Do the math to answer “ça fait combien?”


Devoirs :  Study ER, IR, être and avoir, plus all vocab from Feuille de la semaine 26, 27, 28 and from the book that we’ve been using!  Mini-quiz on Tuesday!  Write a dialogue between a server and a restaurant patron of at least 10 lines—be creative! (You’ll be using this in class to write a more extensive dialogue in small groups!)

Lundi 21/04

Today we practiced forming questions with “qui” and the other question words.  We also learned the meaning of “Ah bon?” (Oh? Really?).  We started a new mini-project making menus.

A Faire:  pg 121 #3 (for each one, write out Phillipe’s line and Michele’s response using “Ah bon”)  Example:  #1 (Phillipe) J’organise un pique-nique.  (Michele) Ah bon?  Quand est-ce tu organise un pique-nique?)  We will do this orally in class !

Vendredi 18/04

Today we had a substitute teacher.

A Faire:  pg 69 #4, write out 4 different orders for the waiter using combinations of 2 or more things from the menu pg 68, also write out the waiter’s response (how much that comes to), do orally in partners.


Devoirs :  pg 123 #8 (choose different elements from the columns to form logical questions using “qu’est-ce que”), pg 268 #1 (say whether or not the people finish using the correct conjugation of finir).

Mercredi 16/04

Today we did practiced questions from the feuille de la semaine, IR verbs and asking questions using “qui” to find out who does certain things (qui + verb in il/elle form : Qui habite dans la Maison Blanche?)

A Faire:  Answer the question “C’est combien?” for the images in the picture.  Use either “c’est…” or “il/elle coûte…” and write out the numbers (pg R7 in the book for numbers!)

Mercredi 09/04

Today we did a group brainstorm about food, learned how to ask someone to “loan me” something, practiced talking about how much things cost, reviewed question words, and learned how to conjugate IR verbs.

A Faire:  pg 68 #1 (write out the numbers and change « francs » to « euros »)

Devoirs packet pgs 80-83, pg 121 #1, continue to study verbs including IR verbs!

Today we practiced talking about the times we eat each meal, how to ask/talk about how much things cost, and learned some question words (interrogative expressions)

Today we learned the vocabulary for the different meals and talked about our preferences.  We also did quiz corrections and another round of the challenge quiz.

Today we practiced more food and especially drink vocabulary, did some mini dialogues practicing ordering food, and did some review of être/avoir/ER verb conjugations.
